Cake and Snack Keeper Update!

I would love to make you a personalized cake or snack keeper today!! These would make great Valentine's or Easter gifts, birthday presents, or hostess/housewarming/thank you gifts!

I have tons of fonts, colors, themes, and ideas to choose from, so simply shoot me an email at ourheartforadoption@gmail.com with your thoughts, and we'll get started planning and making right away!

There has been one small change: Snack keepers are ONLY available with a blue handle and blue latches. (See below for an example of the blue) There are no gray handled/latched snack keepers. With the cake keepers, you can have your choice of blue or gray handles and latches. :)

Cake Keepers and Snack Keepers are $25 each + shipping, which typically runs between $8 and $10. Best of all, 100% of the proceeds go to bring our little one home!!

So dream big, contact me, and get yours started today!! If you need a little inspiration, browse through some of the ones I've made here!

**Oh, and if a cake keeper isn't your style, we also have coffee for sale: each bag of delicious, fair-trade coffee bought from our store will bring us $5 closer to having our little one home...or each super cute t-shirt bought from our store brings us closer to our financial goal! Thank you so much for your support!!

Blessed!!

We've had an exhaustingly wonderful day today!! I'm blogging from my phone, so this won't be long...but I just want to share briefly how God has blessed us!

We have been hanging with Mickey Mouse today...for FREE! We were so blessed by a man we don't even know...he works at one of the Disney Resorts and considers it part of his ministry to give his free passes to ministers. We had an awesome day park hopping to our heart's content and then a little more!! We got to have a wonderful break just enjoying a great time of fun and fellowship.

Tomorrow, I'm teaching a Coupon Class at an association in GA to raise funds to bring our little one home!!

We are so blessed, and I am so thankful!!!

FINALLY!!

I've been quiet for a while. I've been hoping that each day, I'd have a bit of exciting news to share...and each day I was disappointed. I've also been *slightly* busy (I think that might be the understatement of the year!!) and my brain has been so occupied with making it through each day that I haven't had anything thought-provoking or contemplative to post. Not that I haven't tried. But most days I would just stare blankly at the "New Post" screen until I deemed it time to move on to the next task on the to-do list.

Our most recent "busy-ness" was taking 10 students to the Strength to Stand conference in Sevierville, TN. We were blessed to hear Ergun Caner, Dave Edwards, David Nasser, and Scott Dawson proclaim the Word of God, and worship with Kristian Stanfill, KJ-52, Needtobreathe, Casting Crowns, Audrey Assad, and 8,300 people in attendance. God worked in the hearts and lives of the 10 students we took, and we had the humbling pleasure of leading 4 of these students to the Lord, and seeing many others broken over sin and recommit their lives to Christ. It was a great, exhausting, humbling, exciting weekend!!

Then, today, the little piece of paper whose absence has been disappointing me day after day ARRIVED!

We FINALLY have our CORRECT I-171H, or Favorable Determination Letter!!

Of course, we have to do everything the hard way. Our first issued I-171H had my name listed incorrectly, and when it comes to the adoption paperwork precision required, this just wouldn't do. I contacted USCIS and told them of my problem (which we have jumped this hurdle before when we received our receipt of the I-600A AND appointments for fingerprints...) and was told they would correct the problem and send it right out. Then, later, I was told that I would need to provide proof of my legal name, but no one could tell me what they would accept as proof (well, fast enough for me to be satisfied, anyways...) so I made a copy of my driver's license, social security card, and amended passport and put them in an envelope with a letter explaining just what needed to be done. Shortly after I mailed my life in that envelope, I received word that my driver's license would be sufficient. Oh well.

And then I waited, not so patiently, for this one sheet of paper. And today, it came! Which officially concludes our portion of the paper chase...until we receive our referral and scramble to get ready for court!

Let the real waiting begin! :)
