When I saw our caseworker's number pop up on my cell phone, I had two conflicting emotions all at once.
Part of me screamed that this could be our court date!
The other part of me was absolutely certain this was a phone call for more paperwork!
I stared at my phone for a second, not wanting to answer.
(Oh, and did I mention it was 11:45? It was 11:45. This is important only to me because I've felt that our caseworker was going to call at 11:45 with something important. Take it for what it is.)
Finally, I answered. We exchanged pleasantries. I'm trying to hold in the urge to yell "WHAT IS IT!?!" into the phone like a crazy person. Adoption: it keeps you on edge, people!
After the 15 longest seconds of my life, our caseworker told me that while she didn't have a court date, she did have some great news to keep us updated.
The judge has all our documents! YAY!
She is very pleased! Super YAY!
The only thing needed now is for Hudson to get his medical exam updated, so it will be current for court. The only day they do those is on Thursday.
Get this- they were able to get him in TODAY for the medical exam! YAY times 1000!
His updated medical will make it to the judge tomorrow or Monday, and then the judge is able to issue us a court date. (Again, as long as all goes according to plan. We all know how this process works!) They expect the court date to be at least two weeks out.
So, our prayer is that we will know when our court date is by next week. And then we can get the wheels turning to go and fight for Hudson!
Getting closer, for sure!! We are so thankful for how God is orchestrating this story, and making His great name known. He deserves all the praise and glory!
