"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressivedecrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from theoppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless.” - Isaiah 10:1-2
"But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider theirgrief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. You, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, sothat mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.” -Psalm 10:14, 17-18
"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in hisholy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners withsinging; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.” - Psalm 68:5-6
