The news that continues to come out of Russia regarding the fatherless just breaks my heart. I can't make sense of all this in my head or heart. It just seems so unfair that these precious children are now STUCK with no choice, no mama and daddy, and no hope. And while I am BEYOND thankful that our precious son is home, I can't reconcile this with the fact that hundreds of thousands of children aren't able to come home right now. There aren't words to express it. However, even as my heart is breaking, I am reminded that we aren't left without hope. That leads me to my....
{Lesson Learned}
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressivedecrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from theoppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless.” - Isaiah 10:1-2
"But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider theirgrief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. You, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, sothat mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.” - Psalm 10:14, 17-18
"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in hisholy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners withsinging; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.” - Psalm 68:5-6
God alone is our hope. He is the strength, defender, protector, listener, and encourager of the fatherless. While it doesn't always look like I think it should, He loves these precious children more than I can fathom, and is constantly holding them close.

Happy Birthday Hudson! I am so thankful he is home to celebrate his third birthday!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand where you are coming from. A constant prayer for the orphans of the world to know HIS love through the love of a family.
Hugs,
